CEORoundtable Mentors As part of our mission as a nonprofit business association, CEORoundtable seeks opportunities to give-back to the Minnesota business community. Dennis D Anderson/CEORoundtable Scholarship In 2002, CEORoundtable designated an annual scholarship to be awarded to an up and coming entrepreneur graduating from the University of St. Thomas,Opus School of Business, Morrison Center for Entrepreneurship. In 2004, we renamed the scholarship to the Dennis D. Anderson/CEORoundtable Scholarship as a tribute to one of the founding members of CEORoundtable and to mark his commitment to nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit. Dennis was a lifelong supporter of entrepreneurs and growing businesses in Minnesota. Dennis D. Anderson passed away May 27, 2008 and we are honored that we will be able to continue supporting one of Dennis's life's passions. The Minnesota Cup   In 2004, the University of Minnesota launched a new competition called MN Cup. It is an annual state-wide competition that seeks out aspiring entrepreneurs and their break through ideas. Since 2005, CEORoundtable members have offered their assistance to some of the 30 semi-finalists of the MN Cup competition. The competition is for all entrepreneurs, those either just putting a business plan together or for those out building their venture. 30 Semifinalists are selected from an ever-increasing number of entries in June. Over the course of one month, the semifinalists continue to hone their plans with the assistance of seasoned entrepreneurs. Five finalists are selected to vie for the $75,000 prize, awarded in September. |
